The Cavaliers have recorded back-to-back fifth-place finishes at the NCAA championships under head coach Augie Busch. In 2016, UVA won its ninth-consecutive ACC Championship. Junior Leah Smith has captured four NCAA titles in the last two years and earned two Olympic medals in Rio, including gold in the U.S. 4×200-meter freestyle relay.
