The Virginia women’s soccer program reached the NCAA Sweet 16 in 2016, marking the sixth consecutive season for the Cavaliers to advance to at least the Sweet 16. That stretch includes a pair of appearances in the NCAA Finals in 2013 and 2014. Under the direction of head coach Steve Swanson, the Cavaliers have won two ACC Championships (2004, 2012), ascended to the top of the national rankings, reached the NCAA Tournament round of 16 for 12 straight seasons and led the nation in scoring during the 2013 and 2014 seasons.

The video feature below highlights some of the team building exercises and opportunities afforded the Women’s Soccer team that has allowed the run of success enjoyed under head coach Steve Swanson.
