The storied Virginia women’s basketball program has made 33 trips to the postseason, including three trips to the final four, with 11 ACC regular-season titles and three ACC Tournament Championships. Joanne Boyle, who is just the fourth head coach in program history, has led her squad to nine upset victories over top-25 opponents in the last six seasons, including four wins over top-10 opponents at John Paul Jones Arena. Boyle signed back-to-back-to-back top-20-ranked recruiting classes at Virginia that have included four Gatorade State Players of the Year, two members of the 2013 Parade Magazine High School Girls All-America Team and a gold-medalist from the 2011 USA Basketball U16 team that swept through the FIBA Americas Championship in Merida, Mexico.

John Paul Jones Arena opened in the summer of 2006 thanks to the generosity and support of thousands of donors. JPJ, which seats 14,593 for basketball, houses practice courts, offices, and training spaces for the men’s and women’s basketball programs, UVA’s athletics academic affairs office, the student-athlete dining hall, and offices for athletics department support staff.
Donations to the Virginia Athletics Foundation determine seating and parking for home women’s basketball games.
