Under the direction of two-time national coach of the year Kevin Sauer, the Virginia rowing program has finished in the top six at the NCAA Championships in 10 of the last 11 seasons. The Cavaliers captured the 2017 ACC Championship, their eighth straight and have won the title in 17 of the 18 ACC regattas overall. The UVA Varsity Four won the 2015 NCAA title, becoming the ninth Cavalier boat to capture a national championship.

This video feature highlights the team’s competition vs. Yale:

Thanks to gifts from the families of student-athlete alumnae and other generous donors, three new boats were dedicated and used by the Cavaliers in 2015, including the boat that was used by the national champion Cavalier Varsity Four. These new boats are top-of-the-line and give the student-athletes the best opportunity to challenge for national championships.

Donations to the Virginia Athletics Foundation directed to Friends Of Rowing provide operational and scholarship support for the program.
