John Paul Jones Arena opened in the summer of 2006 thanks to the generosity and support of thousands of donors. JPJ, which seats 14,623 for basketball, houses practice courts, offices, and training spaces for the men’s and women’s basketball programs, UVA’s athletics academic affairs office, the student-athlete dining hall, and offices for athletics department support staff.

Donations to the Virginia Athletics Foundation determine seating and parking for home men’s basketball games.

The men’s basketball Coaches 10 program has helped with enhancements to the practice courts and locker room and the retention of the coaching staff.
